Constable Precinct 5 Notifications: May 2012
There has been an increase in Residential Burglaries throughout our area. Please make your residents aware to report any unusual or suspicious activity immediately to our dispatch @ 281-463-6666. Remember, in these instances any delay in reporting suspicious activity could result in one of your neighbors becoming a victim of a crime rather than us apprehending a suspect. As of April, 9 suspects were arrested and charged with burglary in surrounding divisions, from Cimarron and Memorial Parkwayto Briar Grove.
If you have an alarm system please make sure that the monitoring station has our office number (281-463-6666) and has us listed as the agency to respond when the alarm goes off.
H.C.C.O Precinct 5 has provided these Home and Personal Safety Tips and Burglary Prevention Tips.

Vehicle Parking:
It is not a violation of our deed restrictions to park a vehicle on the street as long as it is not being stored, is fully operational, and has current tags. However, the Transportation Code of Texas, Title 6, Chapter 545, Section 302 states that:
– a vehicle cannot park closer than 15 feet to a fire hydrant
– a vehicle cannot park closer than 20 feet to an intersection
– a vehicle cannot park closer than 30 feet to a stop sign
The Board has asked the Constables to take appropriate action whenever there is a violation of the Transportation Code, in order to keep our homes and lives safe.
The parking of vehicles on the street has become a larger problem. There are times that school buses cannot pull close enough to the curb in order to safely pick-up or let off our children. In some cases, emergency vehicles cannot reach their final destination if traffic flow is inhibited. Please be considerate of your neighbors and do not park your vehicle in front of their house or block the street, if another car is parked directly across from yours. All of our homes have at least a two or three car garage and room for several cars in the driveway. We respectfully request that you refrain from excessive parking on the street.
